Shims
B & D has created a number of products to enhance the effectiveness and usability of Dynafit , Tech bindings, and boots. On this page we are showing our shims. Toe and Heel.
We are producing shims for most the common bindings that tend to have high ramp. We are constantly adding new ones. Rebranding and differing screw patterns has caused a lot of confusion. We are trying to simplify things as best we can. Skimo ( SLC) works with a lot of this stuff and may be able to help you if we cannot.
Shims do not come with screws as different setups use different screws. We have 19mm (dynafit) and 28 mm long screws ( both 6mm diameter)available. There are other screws available- mostly 5.5mm diameter that can be used. More bindings are using a 5.5mm diameter screw now.

Classic shims
Classic shims are for the simpler and older Dynafit toes. Speed, comfort , vertical and Radical speed toes. With comfort and Vertical add tips and toes as shown to support front and back. Will also work with other brands that have the 30 x 39 mm screw pattern. Come in machined version in 6.4mm, laser cut versions in 3.2 and 4.7mm.

Heel Shims
We currently produce heel shims for Dynafit heels. Atomic Backland ( Saloman Mtn)and Armada Tourlite. Most commonly they are used to accommodate a short leg. Contact us on this and we will see what we can do to provide a solution.

Screws
Below is a list of screw length recommendations for some common bindings. Note best to measure the protrusion of your current screw from the bottom of your binding and figure the added thickness of the shim. 3.2mm = 1/8″, 4.7mm=3/16″, 6.4mm= 1/4″. Hard to find a perfect match, but you would like 1/4″ to 1/2″ protrusion depending on ski and screw design. Be careful of protruding into the base.
